Eni prominently present at Mille Miglia 2019
The history of Eni is closely linked to the Mille Miglia, the famous Italian street race held between 1927 and 1957 between Brescia and Rome. During the Mille Miglia 2019 Eni, together with MAUTO - Turin National Car Museum – brought the special Cisitalia 202 SMM 'Spyder Nuvolari' to the starting line.

In the 1947 edition of this heroic street race, the Italian driver Tazio Nuvolari created a sensation by taking second place with the Cisitalia 202 SMM, which had an engine of only 65 hp. The 'Flying Mantuan' won his class and only had the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B (220 hp) of Clemente Biondetti to beat.

Fitting tribute

The participation of Ermanno De Angelis and Nunzia Del Gaudio in the Mille Miglia 2019 with an identical Cisitalia 202 SMM 'Spyder Nuvolari' was a fitting tribute to Tazio Nuvolari's outstanding achievement. The duo finished in 51st place out of the 361 teams that made it to the finishing line.

Choice of AGIP Novecento

This lightweight Cisitalia racing car combines aluminium bodywork with Fiat 1100 engine technology. The engine, gearbox and differential of the rare racing car were checked in the run-up to the Mille Miglia 2019 and overhauled where necessary. AGIP Novecento was used as the engine oil in the Cisitalia for the 1500 km race.

In the range of Eni engine oils, AGIP Novecento offers superior protection for classic and sports cars built between 1900 and 1990, which modern lubricants do not provide. Compared to their modern counterparts, classic cars operate with greater tolerances between the mechanical parts.

Optimal protection

The strongly protective oil film of AGIP Novecento reduces oil consumption and wear. These are important properties for every classic and/or sports car and certainly for valuable and historically important cars like the Cisitalia 202 SMM 'Spyder Nuvolari'.
