Calixareni Eni
Eni has developed new sulfur-free detergents additives for lubricants based on cyclic calixarenes compounds. The automotive lubricants based on these new additives are compatible with the after-treatment devices for the reduction of pollutant emissions and improve the energy efficiency of the engines by reducing friction losses, thereby significantly limiting CO2 emissions. Thanks to the presence of the calixarene-based detergents, these new automotive lubricants have successfully passed the fuel economy engine tests of the European Automobile Manufacturer’s Association and Mercedes Benz specifications with fuel economy outstanding results, which are approximately 50% above the specification limits.
