Enilive is an important supplier on the sulfur market, a fundamental chemical element for numerous industrial productions, the main of which concern the production of sulfuric acid, the formulation of fertilizers, and phytosanitary products for agriculture. Enilive markets the sulfur obtained in Eni refineries through a desulfurization process, both of the starting crude oil and of the finished products. The product is available melted from the traditional refineries of Livorno, Milazzo, Sannazzaro and Taranto (the liquid sulfur is at a temperature of 140°C) and in solid form, at room temperature, thanks to a subsequent solidification process at the dedicated plants located in Taranto and Priolo.
Even in the manufacturing process of biorefineries, for example, in Gela and Venice, there is the need to carry out the desulfurization of the bio-reference raw materials, a process that allows obtaining, even if minimal, a quantity of sulfur with a high content of humidity, defined as wet sulfur.
